welcome to camp geronimo!
Arizona's Premier
Scout Camp
Camp Geronimo is located north of Payson in the shadows of the magnificent Mogollon Rim on nearly 200 acres of forest and meadows.
Surrounded by over 5,000 acres of ponderosa pine forest, trails lead from camp to the top of the rim where Scouts can stand at the very edge of the Colorado Plateau.
Camp Geronimo is a year-around facility. In addition to the Boy Scout summer camp program held June through August, Camp Geronimo hosts a number of events ranging from unit camping opportunities to training courses and district events.
Summer Camp Programs
Camp Geronimo’s main program is a premiere Scout Camp experience based around the BSA merit badge program. Campers choose their own badge schedule and work on them throughout the week. They also get to experience an exciting and dynamic afternoon open program.
Brownsea Island Adventure (BSI) is designed for Scouts who have just joined a troop or have just graduated from Webelos. The program completes most requirements for Tenderfoot and Second Class, and many requirements for First Class. This is a transitional program to help Scouts understand the patrol method, learn basic Scout skills, and experience many of the programs available at Summer Camp.
Fish Camp is a hands-on, immersive adventure offered by Trout Unlimited and the Grand Canyon Council. Scouts will earn and learn both Fishing and Fly-Fishing Merit badges as they become proficient in technical skills like casting and fly tying.
Arizona’s Camp Geronimo takes adventure in camping to a whole new level with Spade Ranch Adventures! Youth 14+ can take their pick of caving, horseback riding, canoeing, mountain biking, and canyoneering!
Flight School participants will learn about the physics of aviation through this experiential drone program. This action-packed program will encourage critical thinking and creativity as participants collaborate to solve challenges using STEM concepts.
Geronimo DIY is a vocational-focused program where Scouts will learn valuable life skills through fun and engaging hands-on activities led by our staff and assisted by our camp rangers. Scouts will have the opportunity to earn their Welding, Plumbing, and Home Repair merit badges.
