Spade Ranch Adventure

Conquer your fears and experience the adventure of a lifetime in this exciting program designed for older youth and adults. Features climbing, canyoneering, caving, horseback riding, canoeing, mountain biking programs, and more!

Who should attend?

Any registered Scout who is at least 14 years old by the start of camp. All campers must be able to pass the BSA Swim Test.

How do I prepare?

FAQs

Spade Ranch Adventure participants will plan their itinerary based on their interests and abilities. Activities may include:

  • Canoeing
  • Caving
  • Canyoneering
  • Horseback Riding
  • Mountain Biking
  • Natural Rock Climbing
  • Overnight Camping
  • And More!

Spade Ranch Adventure participants will stay in a provisional site dedicated to Spade Ranch Adventure. The program may have an overnight trip so please bring a tent or hammock with a rainfly.  

Our program staff serves as the primary adult leadership for Spade Ranch Adventure; however, we encourage adults to join in on the fun as program participants.

In addition to your Annual Health & Medical Record, all Spade Ranch Adventure participants need to bring their Equestrian Release Waiver.

Spade Ranch Adventure is designed for older youth who have already experienced everything merit badge camp has to offer, which is why we have not incorporated any merit badges into the program. Scouts who are interested in working on climbing merit badge requirements at Spade Ranch may do so, but must start the climbing merit badge with another merit badge counselor before their week at camp. Spade Ranch are not able to sign any advancement paperwork at camp.
