Geronimo DIY

Geronimo DIY is a vocational-tech program where Scouts learn valuable life skills through fun and engaging hands-on activities led by our staff and camp rangers. Scouts will have the opportunity to earn several merit badges (such as Automotive Maintenance, Home Repair, Plumbing, Welding and more!) as they work to improve camp one project at a time.

Who should attend?

Any registered Scout who is at least 14 years old by the start of camp. This program is a great opportunity for older youth who are looking for something new but still want to spend their week at camp with their unit.

How do I prepare?

We have several resources available to help you prepare for your week at camp!

FAQs

All participants will have the opportunity to earn their Automotive Maintenance, Home Repair, Plumbing, and Welding merit badges. Some sessions will also have the opportunity to work on requirements from the Electricity, Painting, and Woodwork merit badges.

Geronimo DIY participants eat and camp with their units. The program itself takes place during merit badge and open program time.

In addition to the regular packing lists, Geronimo DIY participants should make sure to bring some long pants, long sleeve shirts, and a pair of boots.

Every participant will be given a pair of maintenance coveralls that they get to keep even after their week at camp.
